We want your books (and records, DVDs, and more!)

We are currently accepting donations of gently used materials including books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, and books on CD! Donations may be dropped off at any Library branch during opening hours, or directly at the Bookstore.

Our space is limited so we try to ensure that we are stocking items that will appeal to the widest audience.

Everything must be in good condition and meet the following criteria:

  • Fiction and non-fiction books that have been published in the last 10 years
  • Classics and history books can be published more  than 10 years ago
  • Textbooks and computer books published after  2015

We are unable to accept:

  • Magazines, including National Geographic
  • Reader’s Digest and other condensed books
  • Encyclopedias
  • Cassette tapes

Books must have their cover and all pages intact. All materials must be free from mold, dirt, or water damage. Materials may be refused because of age or condition. All donated material automatically becomes the property of the Friends of the Thunder Bay Public Library. The Friends reserves the right to dispose of donated material in the most appropriate manner.
